Seeds germinate differently. A seedling heat mat provides warm soil for plants that germinate indoors at certain warm temperatures and periods. Plants such as peppers, eggplants, tomatoes, melons, woody herbs, and perennial flowers grow better this way. On the other hand, some seeds, such as strawberries, have a variable rate of germination. Half of the seedlings may germinate earlier and the other half later. This seedling mat warms at an above grow-room temperature of 1°C to increase the chances of an even and successful germination period.
